Makeup Monday: Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup Review

On the surface I thought I really liked the Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup Oil Free Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I even mentioned it in my January Favorites. But when I sat down to write this review, I realized it's really not all that great. It's $60 for 1 oz of foundation, which has lasted me since the beginning of January, and I still have a couple weeks of wear left. It's very light weight and has great coverage. However, within a couple hours it began to oxidize, even with the use of Hourglass's amazing primer. A little bit goes a long way with this foundation. One small pump can make do for the whole face. It has buildable coverage. It looked very heavy until I put a finishing powder on top. If I didn't use a finishing powder it would settle into lines on my face, which is extremely embarrasing when you're out and about. Once I run out in a couple weeks I will not replace, at least not until mid-fall. Until then I will just use a BB cream since my skin has cleared up courtesy of Dr. Dennis Gross and the heat and humidity call for something light and easy on my skin. It is a vegan product (not that I really care) and is paraben, oil, sulfate, synthetic, and phtalate free.

All in all, I don't recommend it. Save your money and get something that lasts longer on the face.
