INSTANT WRINKLE SMOOTHING MASK REVIEW

I am always on the hunt for anything to better my skin. Growing up I struggled with acne, then I have battled the scarring caused from it, and now I am beginning to get wrinkles. The crows feet and smile lines are becoming more visible each day, so I decided to make an addition to my skincare routine. The Roloxin Lift Instant Wrinkle Smoothing Mask from Dermarche Labs improves the appearance of skin in 7 minutes. This treatment removes the tired, dull look from my drab skin for 24 hours. This cream is like botox in a bottle, for a fraction of the cost. It includes vitamin e, aloe vera, vitamin a, vitamin c, and antioxidants.

TWENTY SOMETHINGS PODCAST

When I was in college, my friend Jade and I hosted a weekly radio show called Hump Day with Cate & Jade. It was always the highlight of my week to go into the studio with Jade and chat about all sorts of nonsense. Whether it was events taking place in our lives, celebrity gossip, or the latest trends, we dissected it all on Wednesday afternoons.

Recently we decided to bring it back! Although we have moved on from our Hump Days, we are now Twenty Somethings. Each week we will be discussing our lives, pop culture, and any problems twenty somethings face. This week we caught up with each other, discussed Kylie Jenner's secret baby, Kendra & Hank's split, the struggle of health insurance, and more! Listen here!

JENNY DELANEY

While The Bachelor exposes us to women "glam-shamming" and uncomfortably whispering Krystal's name, it doesn't show us the really special careers and aspirations of the women who are also finding love. I was intrigued by Jenny Delaney when I found out she was a TCU Frog, but was fascinated when I learned she had started her own company at such a young age.

Jenny works full time as a graphic designer with her own company, Jennifer Delaney Designs, while drawing and painting on the side. Some of her best work is from the 2010-2011 TCU Athletics Report, a piece my dad was begging to have printed when I showed him Jenny's site. She is incredibly gifted, with life like drawings of Steph Curry, Jordan Speith, & Tom Brady.

Jenny started her own company in college when she began selling her art on Etsy. Her store grew from reviews and word of mouth. She created and designed her own website and began designing art for others. Her favorite part of Jenny Delaney Designs is making her clients happy with their custom art.

Three Things With Jenny:
What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?
Cliche....Do what you love and it won't feel like work.

What are your top three beauty products?
It's a 10 leave in
Shape Tape by Tarte
Colossal Volum Express Mascara by Maybelline

What is your go to spring fashion staple?
sundress and a denim jacket

MILTON'S CRAFT BAKERS

A couple years ago I met Milton's Craft Bakers at the Gluten Free Expo in San Diego. Afterwards I teamed up with Milton's to share the greatness of all their products and I am happy to be partnering with them again! The Milton's Gluten Free Crackers rock my world. I know the phrase "gluten-free" often makes people assume it will taste nasty, but these are delicious. They are my favorite to have in the afternoon with some hummus, or to crumble up on top of a salad. These crackers come in a variety of flavors including sea salt, cheddar cheese, multi-grain, and everything. My favorite is cheddar cheese, but all of them are equally delicious! Milton's crackers are baked, making them a healthier option than chips. I am so grateful Milton's has provided healthier alternatives to those who are eating gluten free!

FTC Disclosure: Milton's sent me their crackers in exchange for a review. All opinions are honest and my own.

SPRING BREAK TIPS

Spring break is here for many people. For me, it is a couple more weeks away, but the weather is warming up and fun plans are quickly getting penciled in on my planner. Here are some tips for a fun and safe spring break whether you are traveling or staying local.

  • Stay hydrated! Whether you are spending time outdoors or enjoying a couple adult beverages, dehydration can happen quickly. Remember to drink at least 64 fluid ounces, and add to that if you weigh over 150 pounds.
  • Wear sunblock! Be sure to lather up with SPF. Reapply after a couple hours or spending time in the water. Try to avoid spray sunscreen as it can lead to inhalation issues and does not provide proper coverage.
  • Watch your cash use! Do not carry too much cash on you at any given time. If on vacation, utilize the safe in your hotel room. If you are visiting an ATM, do not go after dark for obvious safety reasons.
  • Do not drive! If you consume any amount of alcohol, please do not get behind the wheel. Convenience is not worth the price of a DUI or even worse the cost of your life or the lives of others. Walk to your destination or call for an UBER. For a free ride with Uber, use the coupon code h016x and safe yourself from the risks of a stupid decision.
What are your plans for spring break?

CELEBRITY LOOK FOR LESS

Spring is a difficult time to determine what to wear because it's 35 degrees in the morning then 72 by lunch. However, layering pieces is the best way to make sure you are dressed for the weather, while still looking great. This outfit worn by Alessandra Ambrosio is a spring favorite of mine! KODIAK CAKES

Recently I have been on a quest to drop some weight before some upcoming events. I have been trying to replace some of my favorite snacks with healthier options, which is where Kodiak Cakes comes in. Kodiak Cakes makes great breakfast options with high protein. They taste just as good as pancakes, but add a healthier alternative to a stack full of sugar and carbs.
I was exposed to Kodiak Cakes awhile back and am grateful for them to send me some goodies to motivate me on my weight loss journey. Their flapjack and waffle mix are made with 100% whole grains, 8 grams of protein, natural honey, and NO artificial junk! These are delicious and easy to make. But my favorite thing from Kodiak Cakes is their Flap Jack on the Go. The cinnamon and maple flapjack cup makes it easy to eat on the go.
Because the response was so high on my Kodiak Cakes Instagram post, the DMS were POPPIN, I would love to give away a box of Kodiak Cakes! If you would like to win a box, be sure to follow me on Instagram & comment below on why you deserve Kodiak Cakes! Giveaway opens today, and will close on 3/14/18 at 2pm PST. Winner will be announced on Instagram!

GOODBYE BACHELOR NATION

I have been watching The Bachelor franchise since Trista was Bachelorette. Yup, since ten years old I have watched hundreds of people vie for the final rose. In the past four years I have interviewed dozens of Bachelor contestants, been on Bachelor related podcasts, and have developed incredible friendships because of this silly show.

However, after last night, I will never watch any franchise related shows again. After my final Bachelor interview I have already done, with someone from this season, I will never discuss the show on my blog again.

What ABC did to Becca last night is disgusting, immoral, and inexcusable. I still can't shake the feeling of what this beautiful woman went through in front of all America. I understand that she signed up for The Bachelor, but she did not sign up to get dumped in front of all of America on what she thought was a Happy Couple visit. Happy Couple visits are NEVER recorded. While producers are around for them, they are NEVER recorded. The fact that cameras were there to watch Arie break Becca's heart and then aired it all "unedited" on television is disgusting. The fact that Arie agreed to do this on television, instead of in private, says everything about the character of these people and the production.

Bachelor Nation, thank you for years of entertainment, quality blog posts, and new friends. I will miss my Monday night viewing parties, but I can drink my wine in other ways.

BLOGGER SPOTLIGHT: LARISSA ZELLMER

A couple weeks ago I was invited to an invite with Bloggers Who Brunch LA & Bumble. It was held at The Grove in Los Angeles and gave me an opportunity to have fun and network with other bloggers. One of the boss babes I met, Larissa, is a YouTuber who I loved connecting with.

Larissa is an LA transplant, originally from Missouri. She started YouTube ten years ago, but put it on hold in high school out of fear of what others would think. Once Larissa headed to London to study abroad in college, she started posting on YouTube again with travel vlogs. While she is no longer traveling, she continues with her channel focusing on vlogs and lifestyle videos.
Larissa hopes to provide others with hope and to inspire young people to chase their dreams regardless of any insecurities they face. “I am so proud of myself for sticking with it and allowing myself to have it as a creative outlet,” said Larissa.
Outside of YouTube, Larissa enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is pursuing a career in acting, but also is a dog walker with the app Wag! It gives her a chance to get some puppy love in, while also getting paid for it! Although not much of a shopper, Larissa updates her wardrobe at Express, Forever 21, and Fashion Nova. Her go to beauty products include Benefit Roller Lash mascara, Benefit Hello Flawless powder foundation, and the 100% argan oil and facial moisturizer by Josie Maran.

READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY

Today is Read Across America Day. This day, which also happens to be Dr. Seuss' birthday, promotes a love for reading in children across our nation. As an educator, I heavily promote this day, but as adults, I believe we put reading on the back burner.

We scroll through emails, news feeds, and text messages, but when was the last time you sat down and enjoyed a good book? We instill the importance of literacy in our youth without being examples of readers ourselves.

Some benefits of reading as adults include: mental stimulation, increased knowledge, improved focus, stress reduction, and free entertainment. Lately I have been enjoying audio books on my morning commute, which although not technically reading, still allows me to get creatively lost in someone else's words and often leaves me inspired.

What I'm Reading:
Faith Forward Future by Chad Veach

What's on Deck:
Bachelor Nation by Amy Kaufman
